Huddersfield Market will once again host a special community event, on Friday 28 March 2025, to celebrate Chand Raat and the beginning of Eid celebrations.

A delicious selection of Asian, Caribbean, and Middle Eastern foods, drinks, and sweet treats will be available to buy, catering to everyone, including those breaking their fast.

Councillor Carole Pattison, Leader of Kirklees Council and Cabinet Member for Culture said: “Last year’s event was a joyful experience, and I’m delighted that we can once again provide our communities the opportunity to come together, regardless of faith or belief and enjoy an evening of free entertainment.”

Henna artist Sanah Ferdous, who participated in last year’s event, said: “This event is truly special, bursting with vibrant energy and a lively atmosphere. It provides a wonderful opportunity for people to share their cultural traditions while immersing themselves in the rich diversity of others.”

Qaisar Mahmood CEO of Radio Sangam said “We are thrilled to partner once again with Apna Bazaar to bring a truly multicultural event to Huddersfield Market, celebrating the magic of Chand Raat. This event encourages the coming together of our diverse communities, allowing everyone to learn about one another and share a cultural experience.

“With a variety of music, delicious food, and live radio, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. We encourage families to join us and celebrate the joy of Eid together!”

The Apna Bazaar Market will take place on Friday 28 March, from 4 pm till midnight, at Huddersfield Market, Brook Street, HD1 1RY
