EastEnders scriptwriter, playwright and broadcaster Yasmeen Khan talks about her career and offers tips for budding writers and journalists.

Yasmeen Khan is a writer and broadcaster. She writes for stage and television (BBC EastEnders) and has been a radio presenter for many years, doing thousands of hours of live radio across the BBC and commercial radio also many documentaries for BBC Radio 4, covering a wide range of topics.
She talks about how she got into writing and radio and where she gets her inspiration from – and how the north still inspires her writing today.
For any budding writers, she can offer tips of how to find your voice and get started. She’ll also talk about the realities and practicalities of being a professional writer and will take questions from the audience.
