The V&A’s collection of Mughal court art includes some of the most important pieces in the world.

In this special event exclusive to Sangam Festival, V&A curator Revati Mann will guide us through some of these works.

The Mughal Empire was an imperial power in the Indian subcontinent from about 1526 to 1757. At the height of their power in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, they controlled most of the subcontinent – extending from Bengal in the east to Balochistan in the west, Kashmir in the north to the Kaveri basin in the south.

The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art and design, housing a permanent collection of over 2.3 million objects that span over 5,000 years of human creativity. The Museum holds many of the UK's national collections and houses some of the greatest resources for the study of architecture, furniture, fashion, textiles, photography, sculpture, painting, jewellery, glass, ceramics, book arts, Asian art and design, theatre and performance.
