Rachel Reeves has given her support to Andy Burnham to be our next Prime Minister despite rumours that he would replace her as Chancellor.
As of now Burnham is the only MP to have made his intentions to run clear, and with these latest endorsements he is gaining support from Labour backbenchers as well as notable politicians like former Health Secretary West Streeting.
As reported by the BBC, Burnham is already considering replacements for Reeves. Ed Miliband, Shabana Mahmood, and his support West Streeting have been waved around.
Some of Rachel Reeves policies have been critiqued for being too stringent.
When speaking to BBC Conference she said: "I hope that whoever is chancellor, in the future... sticks to what I'm doing because it is beginning to bear fruit."
She later complimented Andy Burnham adding, “He is a great communicator, he's got a great track record of delivering in Greater Manchester, and I have no doubt he will bring that to the position of prime minister."
