TransPennine route upgrades cause disruptions for those travelling in Yorkshire.
Passengers travelling between Huddersfield and Leeds continue to face disruptions as the TransPennine route upgrades continue. Customers travelling from Manchester and York are also affected.
The work began on 30 May and is expected to continue till 26 June. Throughout this time period rail replacement buses are operating. In addition, many passengers have opted to take other buses or coaches for their journey.
The engineering works are part of plans to improve the rail infrastructure on routes to and from Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds, and York.
All dates when routes are impacted:
Between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds and York: Saturday 30 May to Friday 26 June
Between Manchester, Huddersfield and Leeds: Weekends between Saturday 27 June and Sunday 2 August
Between Manchester Victoria and Preston: Sunday 28 June 2026
Between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge: Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July and Monday 10 to Friday 14 August 2026
