England and Ghana faced off last night in the second batch of Group L games.
Many 3 lion fans sat in disappointment when England were unable to score against African side Ghana. England currently sit in fourth position in FIFA rankings whilst Ghana sits 60 spots behind them.
Although, England were able to dominate with 78% possession the squad were denied by Ghana’s fantastic defending, by the woodwork, and a goal-line clearance from Ghana’s Kojo Peprah Oppong. After both teams were able to secure opening match victories, they now sit at 4 points each. This leaves both teams in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages.
