The 2026 FIFA World Cup action continues to deliver excitement and drama as teams battle to ensure their side qualifies for the coveted knockout rounds.

Reigning Champions Argentina have won their second game in the tournament with Messi scoring two goals against Austria. He adds to his impressive goal tally following his hattrick against Algeria.

Brazil was back to dominating after scoring 3 goals against Haiti. This follows their opening game draw against Morocco.

Spain were held by Cape Verde in their opening game. They failed to score despite having 7 attempts on target. Goalkeeper Vozinha was the player of the match becoming a world cup hero. They followed the impressive clean sheet with another draw against team Uruguay where Cape Verde were able to score their first two goals in their team’s competition history.

Vozinha continues to impress becoming somewhat of an overnight sensation having begun the tournament on around 50,000 followers and gaining over 15 million followers thus far.

Cape Verde are not the only nation impressing in their first world cup. They are joined by Curacao the smallest country in the competition who became fan favourites after scoring a goal against Germany. Although they went on to lose 7-1, they managed to improve upon their performance with goalkeeper Eloy Room achieving a clean sheet.

Mexico, the USA, Germany, and Argentina have already qualified for the next round. Whilst Haiti, Tunisia, and perceived dark horses Turkey have already been eliminated.

There are many matches to go, and plenty of spots to be filled!
