Tying in with the Sangam Festival themes of South Asian heritage and cooking, Deaf poet Sahera Khan, whose native language is British Sign Language, was commissioned to create a brand new poem.

 

Memory Dish is a moving and thoughtful performed poem about the delicious South Asian meals her mother creates and the resonance of the dishes they are served in.

 

The poem is performed by Sahera in British Sign Language with subtitles and voiceover.
