The historic Huddersfield Market will once again host a special community event, on Friday 13 March 2026, to celebrate Chand Raat.
Held in the Grade II* listed building, the Apna Bazaar night market is a collaboration with Radio Sangam and is back by popular demand.
Chand Raat, which means ‘the night of the moon’, is a Muslim holiday celebrated at the end of Ramadan, on the eve of Eid al-Fitr. People of all faiths, or none, are invited to join the festivities.
The event will include live entertainment hosted by Radio Sangam, a live Qawwali performance, a Community Iftar (the meal to break the fast), henna artists, balloon modelling, free children’s fairground ride and market stalls selling a wide range of South Asian goods, such as jewellery, hampers, gifts, fragrances, clothing, and more.
A delicious selection of Asian and Middle Eastern foods, drinks, and sweet treats will be available to buy, catering to everyone, including those breaking their fast
The Apna Bazaar Market will take place on Friday 13 March, from 5pm till midnight, at Huddersfield Market, Brook Street, HD1 1RY.
